Humans of TPOT: Aashutosh

Happy New Year frens.

We had a good year overall. We featured cool people on our blog, went through some dry spells and lows, but we emerged strong. Y’all have been too kind to us, and we are eternally grateful for that. We will continue to give our best to the initiative; all we need is your support and blessings.

Today we have with us @Aashutosh ji

I met Aashutosh ji through the Nibble Mafia. He and Samosa ji together write for nibbles.dev , and they recently completed the 40th edition. I enjoy reading their newsletter. Y’all should subscribe too.

Some of the best people I’ve met on TPOT have been nodes in a network graph—very cool people with shared interests and kindness. It’s always a pleasure to meet fellow writers. One vibes better with people of similar mentality.

I also feel for Aashutosh ji because he will always be Roll No. 1 :')

Questionnaire

1. When did you join tpot?
   Joined Twitter in 2015. I still don’t know when I became part of tpot, I feel I just got in touch with few folks on Twitter after we started writing Nibble and that was more or less gateway to it. Then I had to find the meaning of tpot.

2. Origin of your username/handle? (iff)
   Lol, NA in my case, but Lord Shiva, wish I were anon though.

3. How did you come across tpot?
   One fine day, dejavucoder & amuldotexe’s shit posts started coming in my feed, and later I talked to Sankalp about his blog. Found out a very good friend of mine is part of tpot. That was when I had questions like what’s tpot, what’s bbit, is there an urban dictionary?

4. Which account do you worship here/ fav account?
   the list keeps expanding and I know it’s not a good thing be worshipper. But the top ones are Yacine, TDM ji, TokenBender ji, FormerSnack san, cokane ji, dejavucoder. There are more I love my feed now a days.

5. Hobbies?
   reading on internet, writing/reviewing code. Once in a blue-moon hitting gym/badminton court, breaking my own losing streak record on chess.com , solving (try to) random Math olympiad problems and often testing my limits to live without hydrating.

6. Profession?
   full-time software tinkerer, currently on BFS to find the node to do DFS on.

7. What is your favourite breakfast?
   Ghee Podi Idli & Filter Coffee when in Bengaluru. Poha, Samosa & Chai when in North India

8. A dish you can never get enough of?
   I would like to phrase my lack of taste palate as “I have my Rasanaa Indriya in control”.
   If I had to answer it would be Kachori (we have best ones in my hometown), Makka Roti & Rajasthani Aalan saag.

9. What Lays flavour do you like?
   it might hurt cokane ji, but it’s BLUE lays

10. Are you blocked by lex?
    lol, no

11. Which programming language do you hate? (only for coders)
    omg I absolutely hate the syntax of Rust (prone to change hopefully)

12. Who is your favourite anime waifu/ fav actress/actor?
    Nanami Kento from JJK (from last 1 year)

    

13. What is the secret to your bangers?
    I don’t think I have any, but it’s usually thot dump

14. Favourite movie? (Any top 5)
    I have watched more Ghibli movies in last 2 years than one with humans in it. Here’s my list:

    • The Holiday (my brother made me watch this when I needed to)

    • The Wolf of Wall Street

    • The Internship (watched this when I was in Kota prepping for JEE)

    • The Social Network (are you a nerd? yes sir)

    • The Interview (all in for mockumentaries)

15. Any 5 go-to songs that you think people should listen?
    Some really mixed stuff, some are just music

    cricket, enjoys watching democracy unfold & sometimes follows Chess

    I like this one as it accurately represents me reflecting back every friday after pushing bugs to prod.

2. Can you share a memorable moment or story from your time in the TPOT community that had a significant impact on you, without disclosing specific names or identities?
   I have not interacted with lot of folks, but whoever I connected with found them very helpful, smart and funny. It more or less impacts me in a way that I look forward to reading what they tweet and what they are exploring in tech/life.
